Petrol & Diesel Prices Expected to Decrease from March 16. Petrol and diesel prices are likely to be cut by up to Rs12 per litre in the upcoming review for the second fortnight of March 2025.
Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan (OMAP) Chairman Tariq Wazir Khan has predicted that petrol prices could be cut by Rs12 per litre and high-speed diesel prices by Rs8 per litre.
These claims come at a time when inflation in Pakistan has come down and people are expecting significant relief in petroleum prices from the government.
The OMAP chairman has hinted at a massive cut in petroleum prices this weekend amid a dispute with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) over ‘take or pay’ contracts with local refineries.
Local media reported that under ‘take or pay’, OMCs will either have to buy their allocated quota of petroleum products from local refineries or pay penalties for failure to do so.

The current price of petrol in Pakistan is Rs 255.63 per litre, high-speed diesel is Rs 258.64 per litre and light-speed diesel is Rs 155.81 per litre.
New Petrol Prices Expected from March 16
The government will announce the revised prices of petroleum products on the night of March 15, and they will be implemented from the next day, March 16.
If the government accepts the estimate presented by the OMAP chairman, the price of petrol will remain at Rs 247.63 per litre and the price of diesel at Rs 246.64 per litre.
