Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria are limited to households consuming up to 200 units of electricity a month. The scheme is receiving applications from over 861,000 consumers, while about 94,483 of these consumers will receive free solar systems where applicable. The processing of applications and installation shall be treated digitally.
Physical Verification

In a bid to ensure transparency, the verification will be done by utilizing a reference number and CNIC number shown on the consumer’s monthly bill.
A helpline has also been set for guiding consumers who are to receive free solar panels. Furthermore, solar panels or inverters under the scheme will be linked with the computerized identity card of the consumer so that they will be insured against theft.
The scheme will generate a carbon reduction of 57,000 tonnes and also lessen the subsidy strain on the government at the centre.
