Pakistan set to launch 5G technology in June 2025. In a recent technological update, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT) has charted out a roadmap for the induction of 5G technology, starting from June 2025.
According to he auction process of the 5G spectrum would commence in the next month and continue in five phases. Under phase one, the PTA, as the competent authority, will furnish the consultant’s recommendations to the Spectrum Advisory Committee.
In phase two, the advisory committee shall finalize the policy reforms and decide on the pricing and trading terms of 5G spectrum in March. After these processes, the federal government will issue policy directives in April 2025, and the PTA will auction the spectrum in May 2025.
