In a remarkable initiative, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment Mushaal Hussein Mullick has spearheaded a high-level meeting addressing the critical human rights situation in Palestine. The gathering, held in Islamabad, focused on strategizing ways to provide assistance to Palestinians grappling with the ongoing humanitarian crises.

A pivotal announcement emerged from the meeting, signaling the formation of the Palestinian Consultative Committee. Special Assistant Mushaal Hussein Mullick underscored the committee’s primary objective—to explore concrete measures aimed at alleviating the challenges faced by Palestinians living under the occupation of Israel.
Expressing Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Mushaal Hussein Mullick emphasized the historical ties between the two nations. She invoked the vision of Pakistan’s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who ardently advocated for an independent Palestinian state. “The State of Pakistan is committed to upholding the principles set forth by our founding father on matters pertaining to the Palestinian Conflict,” she affirmed.
The establishment of the Palestinian Consultative Committee reflects Pakistan’s proactive stance in championing the rights and well-being of the Palestinian people. The committee is anticipated to serve as a platform for collaborative efforts, fostering diplomatic initiatives, and implementing effective strategies to address the humanitarian crisis in the region.
As Pakistan aligns itself with the vision of its founding leader, this move demonstrates the nation’s commitment to promoting justice, human rights, and solidarity on the global stage. The announcement has been met with appreciation from various quarters, applauding Pakistan’s dedicated efforts to contribute positively to the longstanding Palestinian cause.
Mushaal expressed deep concern over the ongoing human rights violations in Palestine. She expressed her surprise that these transgressions were taking place in the 21st century. She highlighted that the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli occupation forces had led to a devastating toll on the Palestinian population. She said that in the past three months alone, over 25,000 Palestinians had lost their lives, 61,000 had sustained injuries, hundreds of thousands had been forcibly displaced and 70,000 buildings reduced to ruins.
The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister commended South Africa for its efforts to halt the genocide perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people. She pledged unwavering support of Pakistan to South Africa in advocating for Palestine’s cause at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). She emphasized that global unity was crucial in addressing the Palestinian crisis and called upon other nations to emulate actions undertaken by South Africa.

The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister drew a comparison between the struggles of Palestine and the situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). She asserted that the inhabitants of both regions were enduring hardships primarily due to their legitimate aspirations for the right to self-determination. She lamented that the people of IIOJK were confronted with severe human rights violations perpetrated by Indian Occupation Forces. She further said that India had put genuine and peaceful Kashmiri political leadership behind bars, extra judicial killings were rampant in IIOJK and the land of IIOJK was full of unmarked graves of Kashmiri.
Mushaal stressed the need of close collaboration and cooperation between the people of IIOJK and Palestine. She emphasized the significance of creating a platform where individuals from both regions can exchange stories of resilience, articulate their shared aspirations and strategize on ways to actualize them.
