COAS Advocates for Regional Stability and Global Peace During US Visit. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has engaged in an open dialogue with members of prominent US think tanks and media, sharing Pakistan’s perspective on various crucial issues.

During the interaction, COAS emphasized Pakistan’s significance from both geopolitical and geoeconomic standpoints. He expressed Pakistan’s aspiration to become a hub of connectivity and a gateway to Central Asia, underscoring the country’s commitment to maintaining balanced relationships without indulging in bloc politics.

COAS Munir conveyed Pakistan’s desire to strengthen bilateral engagement with the United States through a long-term, multi-domain partnership. He highlighted the positive and forward-looking nature of his interactions with US political and military leadership during the visit.

Addressing Pakistan’s role in combating transnational terrorism, COAS Munir emphasized the country’s enduring fight against terrorism, making unparalleled contributions and sacrifices for regional stability and global peace. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue this fight until a logical end, aligning with the aspirations of the Pakistani people.

COAS Munir stressed the need for the resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and the UNSC resolutions. He firmly stated, “Kashmir is an internationally accepted dispute, and no unilateral action can alter the nature of this dispute against the wishes of millions of people in the area.”

Upon arrival in the United States, COAS Munir was warmly received by the Ambassador of Pakistan to the US. The visit aims to foster positive and collaborative relations between Pakistan and the United States on various fronts.
