The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has announced new undergraduate degree programs for the 2026 intake. The decision came during the 237th Academic Council meeting, led by Vice Chancellor Dr Syed Shahid Munir. Senior deans, the registrar, and department heads joined him to finalize these plans.
New Degrees to Meet Industry Needs
Dr Munir stressed that these new degrees will help students stay competitive in local and global markets. He believes education must evolve with industry trends.
The newly approved UET Lahore academic programs include:
- BSc Software Engineering — Offered by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. This program will build solid software design and coding skills.
- BSc Logistics & Supply Chain Management — Managed by the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Students will learn logistics, operations, and supply chain solutions.
- BSc Industrial Chemistry — Introduced by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Humanities & Islamic Studies. It focuses on chemical analysis and industrial processes.
- BSc Remote Sensing & GIS — Approved under the Faculty of Earth Sciences & Engineering. It covers spatial data and mapping technology.
Center of Excellence for Practical Skills
UET Lahore will also open a new Center of Excellence. This center will run six-month short courses. These practical programs will help students gain hands-on skills for the workplace.
Policy Changes for Better Access
The council approved new admission policies too. Changes include updated fee refund rules, better merit criteria, and clear guidelines for international students. The university will also expand scholarships for bright students.
