In the post, Khan shared a picture from the hospital, smiling and giving a thumbs up, with a bandage on his shoulder. He wrote in the caption:
“Alhamdulillah! The surgery has been completed successfully. It is a phase of recovery and rehabilitation. I request you all to remember me in your prayers.”
According to medical experts, Shadab may take 12 weeks to fully recover and will miss the upcoming series against Bangladesh and West Indies. His availability for the Asia Cup is also uncertain.
Commenting on the development, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson said: “Shadab Khan needs complete rest after the surgery, we hope he will be fit and ready before the Asia Cup.”
Khan had been experiencing persistent shoulder pain for some time, which affected his ability to throw and bowl. The injury worsened during the recent series against Bangladesh, in which he struggled. While on holiday in England, an MRI scan confirmed the severity of the problem, prompting immediate surgery on the advice of medical professionals.
