New Parking Rule Introduced for Vehicles in Islamabad. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad administration have launched a strict crackdown on illegal parking in commercial areas, banning unauthorized vehicles at night and warning violators of imprisonment.
The decision was finalized on Monday in a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Inspector General of Police Nasir Rizvi, Deputy Commissioner and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
The move comes in response to increasing traffic congestion and security concerns associated with illegally parked and unattended vehicles in busy markets.
According to the new policy, parking in commercial zones during night hours will be strictly restricted to authorized residents and business owners. Shoppers and visitors will be allowed to park only during daytime hours. Any vehicles found violating these restrictions will be impounded at local police stations.
Officials cited unattended vehicles as a growing security risk and stressed that the new rules are intended to address both traffic flow and safety without disrupting public access during business hours.
The administration is expected to release additional details about designated parking zones and an enforcement timeline soon. Residents and business owners are advised to follow the new rules to avoid fines.
