This is not the first time Sonu Nigam has faced disruptions at a concert.
Violence Breaks Out at Sonu Nigam’s Live Concert in Delhi. Indian singer Sonu Nigam had to stop his performance at Delhi Technological University’s Angie Fest 2025 after some members of the 100,000-strong crowd started throwing stones and bottles on stage, injuring members of his team.
As the situation escalated, Sonu Nigam urged the audience to remain calm, saying, “I’m here for you so that we can all have a good time. I’m not saying you shouldn’t have fun, but please, don’t do this.” After order was restored, he resumed his performance as promised.
During the commotion, a student threw a pink rabbit headband that Nigam was wearing onto the stage, prompting the crowd to chant “Pokey Pokey.”
Some attendees expressed disappointment at the rowdy behavior, with one student calling it “extremely embarrassing that a legend had to stop his performance and request order.” Another praised Nigam for his composure, saying, “Even in that moment, he remained calm and dignified.”
This is not the first time Sonu Nigam has faced disruptions at a concert. A similar incident occurred in Kolkata last month when a crowd went wild. Nigam recently criticized the IIFA Awards for not nominating him this year, fueling a debate about his standing in the industry.
