Mushaal urges world powers, Muslim nations to act for lasting Kashmir solution
Mushaal demands immediate release of Yasin Malik & all political prisoners. Mushaal Mullick, the wife of detained Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, has called on the international community, the Muslim world, and United Nations bodies to take urgent and concrete action to resolve the long-standing Kashmir dispute and secure the release of all political prisoners, including her husband.
In a meeting with a delegation led by Prof. Dato Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Mushaal highlighted the dire human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). She stressed the necessity of international intervention to resolve the issue in accordance with the United Nations’ resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people for self-determination.
As the Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization, Mushaal condemned the severe human rights violations and the ongoing oppression in Kashmir, particularly the incarceration of prominent Kashmiri leaders such as her husband Yasin Malik. She called for the immediate release of all political prisoners, emphasizing that Yasin Malik’s health was deteriorating in jail due to denial of medical care, despite his wrongful imprisonment on fabricated charges.

Mushaal described the harsh conditions in the Kashmir valley, where brutal Indian forces have turned the region into a “killing field,” subjecting the Kashmiri population to continuous suffering. She expressed grave concern that her husband was being kept in a death cell as part of a politically motivated attempt to silence him, given his influential role in the Kashmir freedom movement.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano and his delegation expressed their strong support for the Kashmir cause, particularly the urgent need to secure the release of all Kashmiri prisoners and to ensure a resolution to the dispute in line with the wishes of the Kashmiri people. The delegation also conveyed their commitment to raising global awareness about the plight of the Kashmiri people under Indian occupation.
Mushaal appealed to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to rally international support for the protection of Kashmiri human rights and to advocate for their right to self-determination, as guaranteed by UN Security Council resolutions. She also warned India that its unjust occupation of Kashmir could not last forever and called on the Indian government to allow Kashmiris to determine their own future.
In her final remarks, Mushaal vowed that the Kashmiri people would continue their struggle for freedom and justice, undeterred by Indian state terrorism and oppression, until they achieve a lasting resolution to the Kashmir conflict.
The meeting concluded with the delegation reaffirming their full support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and their determination to raise global awareness about the Kashmir issue.
