Diesel price set to rise by Rs 4, petrol prices unchanged
Petrol & diesel expected price in Pakistan from January 1, 2025. With the start of the year 2025, the Pakistani government is set to announce new petrol and diesel prices for the first half of January.
As the world rings in the new year, petroleum prices in Pakistan are likely to increase.
According to media reports, the price of diesel is likely to increase by more than Rs 4 per litre, while the price of petrol will remain unchanged for the next two weeks.
The final decision on the price changes will be taken by the federal government after consultation and will be announced late on Tuesday.

As of late December, petrol prices remain steady at Rs252.10 per litre, as announced by the government on December 15. The price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs3.05, bringing it to Rs255.38 per litre.
Kerosene oil now priced at Rs161.66 per litre, while light diesel oil has also dropped by Rs2.78 to Rs148.95 per litre.
The upcoming price hikes could further strain consumers already grappling with inflation, as the country continues to face economic challenges.
