Govt announces public holidays schedule for 2025. The federal government of Pakistan on Monday declared December 25, 2024, as a public holiday on account of Quaid-e-Azam Day along with Christmas.
The nation will observe a holiday to commemorate the birth anniversary of the nation’s founder Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the Christmas celebrations.
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has also announced all banks and financial institutions will remain closed on December 25.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on December 25, 2024, being a public holiday on the occasions of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, as declared by the Government of Pakistan,” the central bank said in a statement.
While government has released the schedule for public holidays for the year 2025, including holidays for national, Islamic, and minority festivals.
The Cabinet Division has issued a notification detailing the dates of holidays to be observed on various occasions throughout the year.
The announcement provides clarity on public holidays for the upcoming year, allowing citizens to plan accordingly.
