Pakistan win second test by 152 runs as Noman Ali takes eight. Pakistan ended their losing streak in tests on Friday, beating England by 152 runs behind a superb bowling effort from Noman Ali and Sajid Khan.

Both Pakistani spinners did incredibly, with Sajid taking seven wickets in England’s first innings, while Noman Ali took three. The two would switch roles in the second innings, with Ali taking eight wickets, while Sajid took two.
Noman Ali
It was Noman Ali who dominated in the second innings, taking eight wickets in the 17 overs he bowled. He began his assault by dismissing Zac Crawley in the fourth, who was drawn out of the pitch looking to drive the ball, but misjudging the delivery in the process. Mohammad Rizwan did the rest by whipping off the bails.
England’s leading test scorer, Joe Root, would be sent off in the 16th over, after he attempted a sweep, while the ball hit him on the body. England reviewed the call but to no avail. Ali would deal with England’s other record-breaking troublemaker, Harry Brook, in the 20th over with another lbw. The ball stayed low, hitting brook on the back pad. England reviewed again in desperation, but the call wouldn’t be overturned to their despair once again
Jamie Smith would be dismissed in the 22nd over. After gaining some confidence with a sweep that gave the wicket-keeper his first boundary, he went for the same shot again, but a slower ball took the top edge of the bat before reaching the hands of Pakistan skipper Shan Masood.
England skipper Ben Stokes would attempt to put the team on his back, hitting a few fours to give the batting side some life. But Ali would put an end to that in the 28th over. It was the oddest dismissal of the match, with Stokes getting extremely confused, sending his bat high into the air instead of the ball. Stokes lost his composure as he charged up the pitch, looking for a big swing but losing his grip in the process. The ball made its way past him and to Rizwan who did the rest.
Ali’s brilliance wasn’t done yet, dismissing Brydon Carse in the 32nd over. The English bowling all-rounder did well, hitting back to back sixes in the 25th over and another in the 28th. He would be sent off after the ball took a curious trajectory, finding the edge of Carse’s bat, before ending up in the hands of the man at slip, Agha Salman.
Ali’s seventh wicket came by dismissing Jack Leach on the ninth delivery the English bowler saw. The delivery would find the edge of Leach’s bat as he tried to defend, before being taken by Abdullah Shafique.
The spinner would end the match by taking his eight wicket right after, dismissing Shoaib Bashir on the first delivery he saw, as the England player popped up the ball right to Shafique who took the catch again.
Sajid Khan
Sajid Khan would be the one to get things going for Pakistan, taking the first wicket on the third ball of the first over. Ben Duckett would be missed for a duck, after attempting a sweep. He only got the top edge of his bat to make contact, popping up the ball, which Rizwan caught after rushing to short leg.
Sajid would get his second wicket in the 13th over, as Ollie Pope sent the ball right back to the bowler, who comfortably took the catch.
