Punjab Govt allocates Rs 30 billion for Green Tractor Scheme. Punjab Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani said on Tuesday that the provincial government has allocated a huge amount of Rs 30 billion for the Chief Minister Punjab Green Tractor Scheme.
As per the details, presiding over a meeting with representatives of the tractor industry at the Agriculture House, the minister said that earlier farmers were not provided such huge subsidy on tractors.
Under the scheme, 50 to 85 Horse Power (HP) tractors of their choice are being provided to owners of 1 to 50 acres of agricultural land at a subsidy of Rs 10 lakh per tractor.
He said that the Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan wishes that the local tractor manufacturing industry should show generosity and provide 10 to 15 percent discount per tractor to the farmers.
He further said that this initiative will boost agriculture and tractor manufacturing industry and increase confidence of local farmers in tractor industry.
The provincial minister said that the entire system up to the supply of tractors to the farmers will be mechanized. As per the vision of the Chief Minister, this scheme is being launched on a large scale.
As far as purchase of tractor is concerned, the farmer will be given the option to buy the tractor of his choice, the minister said and clarified on the representatives of the tractor industry that the SOPs of the Agriculture Department should be observed. During the production of Green Tractor.

Chief Executive Officer Millat Tractor Raheel Asghar said that the local industry appreciates the Chief Minister Punjab Green Tractor Scheme and the entire industry will provide support and cooperation to the scheme at the local level.
Free delivery and warranty period of green tractors will be extended from 1 year. Even in case of increase in sales tax by the federal government, the fixed price of green tractors will not be increased.
The meeting was attended by Director General Agriculture Extension Chaudhry Abdul Hameed, CEOs and representatives of Al Ghazi Tractor, Barak, Orient, and Pak Tractors.
