BISP to increase Kafalat programme amount to Rs13,500; Details inside. The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) announced to increase Benazir Kafalat programme from Rs10,500 to Rs13,500, starting in January 2025.
BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid has announced that the number of families benefiting from the programme will reach 10 million by the end of this year.
According to the BISP, an amount of 10,500 rupees per quarter is currently being distributed to needy women under the Benazir Kafalat Programme. From the next year, this amount will be increased to 13,500 rupees per quarter.
She expressed gratitude to Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif for increasing the budget of the BISP for the ongoing Fiscal Year.
While talking at the zonal office of BISP Gilgit, the BISP Chairperson also added the government has also planned to launch the Benazir Skill Training Program for deserving women and their families.
She said this initiative will provide training according to local and international standards, enabling beneficiaries to access employment opportunities.
BISP initiatives
While discussing other initiatives under BISP, Senator Rubina Khalid mentioned that under the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif initiative, children from deserving families are provided educational scholarships, contingent on 70% school attendance, with higher financial allocations for girls than boys.
Additionally, under the Benazir Nashonuma program, financial assistance and nutritious food are provided to pregnant and lactating mothers, as well as children up to two years old, to combat stunting.
