ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) announced its plans to install e-gates at various airports in the country to facilitate faster immigration processing for passengers, here on reported.
As per the details, in a statement issued here, a PCCA spokesperson said the e-gates will enable faster clearance as per international standards.
The spokesman said that initially e-gates will be installed at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and Islamabad International Airport.
Passengers will scan their passports at e-gates, the PCCA maintained, adding that the facility aims to reduce waiting times and enhance the overall travel experience.

A team from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements at Karachi and Islamabad airports.
Aviation security review at Islamabad and Karachi airports was conducted by UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (UAE-GCAA), led by Senior Director GCAA UAE Mr. Abdullah Al Kaabi and hosted by PCAA.
During the assessment, the team inspected various aviation security areas at both airports, including passenger and baggage screening, cargo, and catering security.
They also reviewed airlines, ground handling agents, regulated cargo agents, and catering companies operating directly in the UAE.
