Australian PM says govt considering citizenship to Taha for brave action. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has praised a security guard, Mohammed Taha, for his courageous actions in protecting Australians during a knife attack.
Expressing his gratitude, the Prime Minister said that the Australian government will consider Taha’s citizenship request.
Taha, who was wounded in the attack, believed that his bravery warranted recognition and consideration for citizenship.
The incident took place at the Westfield shopping complex in Bandi Junction, where Taha and his colleague Faraz Tahir, who tragically lost his life, were on duty.
Another individual, Damien Garrott, also won praise from the Albanians and was granted permanent residency for his efforts to stop the attacker from entering the bollard.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of honoring individuals like Taha and Garrott for their selfless work to protect fellow Australians.
Meanwhile, Bishop Mar-Marie Emmanuel, who was wounded in a separate knife attack, forgave his attacker and assured the public that there was no cause for concern.
