Punjab Govt Initiates Pakistan’s First IT City in Lahore. Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz has announced the development of Pakistan’s first IT city in Lahore.
In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, approval was granted for the annual budget and the allocation of grants.
To establish the country’s largest IT city, lands will be transferred to the CDA.
Maryam Nawaz expressed enthusiasm for the Tech Giants’ interest in the IT city.
The Punjab Chief Minister also directed to complete both towers of the IT city within one year.
Approval was granted for the provision of 20,000 electric bikes in the meeting as well.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need to reduce air pollution with electric bikes but stated that due to battery theft and low mileage, it is currently not feasible, hence a decision has been made to provide petrol bikes along with electric bikes.
To reduce the burden on students, the down payment will be reduced, and monthly installments will be less than 5,000 rupees, with bike distribution starting in May.
Maryam Nawaz mentioned introducing a separate scheme for high-achieving students to provide them with bikes.

Additionally, the meeting approved handing over Nalaj Park to the Punjab Central Business District Authority.
Maryam Nawaz stated that invitations will be extended to establish campuses for some of the world’s leading educational institutions in Nalaj City.
It is worth mentioning that the Punjab provincial cabinet had approved a provisional budget of 4.48 trillion rupees yesterday.
