The hosts claim an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
India beat England by five wickets to clinch Test series. India clinched a thrilling victory against England in the fourth Test match to secure an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series. The hosts successfully chased down a modest target of 192 runs, overcoming a tense collapse to emerge triumphant on the penultimate day of the contest.
After a strong start with an opening partnership of 84 runs, India faltered to 120-5 as the English spinners applied pressure. However, Shubman Gill’s resilient 52 and Dhruv Jurel’s crucial 39 not out steered India to victory with an unbroken stand of 72 runs for the sixth wicket.
Despite a valiant effort from off-spinner Shoaib Bashir, who claimed 3-79 in the second innings, England couldn’t prevent India from securing the series win.

PCB chief tasks Wahab Riaz with hiring foreign coaches
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has tasked chief selector Wahab Riaz with hiring foreign coaches for the national cricket team, sources said on Saturday.
They added that the former cricketer has started approaching the foreign coaches.
The decision from Naqvi, who was elected PCB chief unopposed earlier this month, after Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick resigned from their respective positions in January.
In April 2023, Arthur was appointed director of the men’s cricket team while Bradburn was announced head coach of the national men’s side earlier last year. Former South Africa cricketer Puttick had been Pakistan’s batting coach since April 2023.
The development came after a major overhaul in the national cricket team, following Green Shirt’s disastrous performance at the World Cup. The team led by Babar Azam failed to make the semi-finals of the tournament as the team struggled to put up a fight against the top sides of the world.
Azam stepped down as the skipper in all formats of the game after the 50-over tournament and Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shan Masood replaced him as skippers in T20 and Test. Moreover, Mohammad Hafeez in November replaced Arthur to become team director.
