Pakistan foils smuggling attempt of US-Made arms from Afghanistan in onion truck. In a significant operation, Pakistan authorities intercepted a smuggling attempt of ‘US-made weapons’ from Afghanistan, cleverly hidden among sacks of onions at the Torkham Border. The cache of weapons, including M4 rifles, Kalashnikovs, American rifles, laser beams, night vision sights, and a large quantity of bullets, were left behind in Afghanistan after the departure of US forces.
The vigilant inspection by Pakistan Customs and security forces personnel led to the discovery of the concealed arms. The driver of the vehicle has been detained for further interrogation. This development comes amidst heightened security concerns following recent terrorist attacks, including the one in Dera Ismail Khan that claimed the lives of 23 security personnel.
Additionally, Islamabad has issued a stern demarche to the Afghan Interim Government, urging a thorough investigation and decisive action against the perpetrators of the attack. The responsibility for the attack has been claimed by Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan, an affiliate of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The Afghan diplomat was asked to immediately convey to the Afghan Interim Government to fully investigate and take stern action against the perpetrators of the recent attack.
