Khalilur Rehman Qamar Claims Kidnappers Named Nauman, Saba

Khalil said that during the kidnapping, the men who took him mentioned the names of well-known actors Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar.

Famous Pakistani writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar, known for his hit drama Mere Paas Tum Ho, was recently kidnapped, tortured, and robbed in Lahore. After staying silent for some time, he finally shared what happened.

In a podcast interview, Khalil said that during the kidnapping, the men who took him mentioned the names of well-known actors Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar. He explained that he did not want to file a police case at first because the kidnappers kept using those names. Khalil admitted that he has personal differences with both actors but still respects their talent and believes the kidnappers only mentioned them to scare him.

The writer also spoke about how shocked he was by the reaction after the incident. He said that many people in India sent him messages of concern and support, while some people in Pakistan mocked him instead of standing by him.

According to Khalil, the experience deeply affected his family. His wife is now thinking about leaving Pakistan for safety reasons, although he himself says he loves his country and has no intention of moving abroad.

Police have filed a case in Lahore based on Khalil’s statement. The FIR says that the kidnappers tortured him, took him to different places, and demanded money from his relatives. They later blindfolded him and left him in a remote area before escaping. Khalil reportedly paid a large amount of money before he was finally freed.
