“I want to make it clear that I have never sung any song for the former Prime Minister of Pakistan,” Sanu said.
Bollywood playback singer Kumar Sanu has denied rumors that he sang a song for former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The singer took to Instagram to clarify the situation, explaining that the news circulating on social media is false. He said the audio clips being shared on Facebook are not his voice, but were generated using artificial intelligence.
“I want to make it clear that I have never sung any song for the former Prime Minister of Pakistan,” Sanu said. He expressed disappointment over the spread of false news and the misuse of his identity.
Sanu also appealed to his fans to ignore the rumors and not believe everything they see online. He emphasized the dangers of AI and deepfake technology being used to create fake content.
Calling for action, the singer urged the Indian government to take strict steps to prevent misuse of technology and stop the spread of misinformation.
The controversy began after a Facebook post on July 26 claimed that Sanu performed a song supporting Imran Khan’s political comeback, which he confirmed was not true.
