Pakistan crumbled under pressure, managing only 110 runs in 19.4 overs. Fakhar Zaman top-scored for Pakistan with a fighting 44 off 38 balls. Pakistan’s batting collapsed with no other batter crossing 25 runs. Taskin Ahmed led Bangladesh’s bowling with three key wickets.

Mustafizur Rahman grabbed two wickets, while Mehidy and Tanzim took one each.

Chasing 111, Parvez Hossain Emon anchored the innings with a steady 56 not out. Towhid Hridoy contributed a valuable 36 runs to the chase. Jaker Ali finished unbeaten on 15, sealing victory in 15.3 overs. Salman Mirza and Abbas Afridi picked up one and two wickets respectively.

Pakistan captain Agha Salman admitted he also wanted to field first. He mentioned the team trained hard at the Karachi camp before the series. Bangladesh captain praised his bowlers and called 140 a competitive total on this pitch.

The second T20 match is expected to see tactical adjustments from both sides.
