She also made headlines for speaking out against sexual harassment by filmmaker Sajid Khan.
Mandana Karimi Quits Bollywood, Here’s why! Indian actress Mandana Karimi, known for her roles in movies like Roy and Kya Kool Hai Hum 3, has announced that she is quitting Bollywood. Mandana, who first became popular on the reality show Bigg Boss 9, said she wants to focus on her education and personal growth.
The Iranian actor-model revealed that while she is grateful for her time in the film industry, acting was never something she truly loved. She admitted that she often turned down roles after completing a year-long course in interior design, choosing to focus on her studies and other personal projects instead.
Mandana explained, “I became a model at a very young age, but I always missed the chance to go back to school. Acting was a job I never felt passionate about, and the industry itself was not something I enjoyed.”
She also shared that although it is difficult to say no to big opportunities, she prefers to dedicate her time to education, events, and personal projects rather than auditions.
Mandana first arrived in Mumbai in 2010 to pursue modeling and made her Bollywood debut in Roy alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Over the years, she has appeared in films like Bhaag Johnny and the series Ishqbaaz, and participated in reality shows including Lock Upp. She also made headlines for speaking out against sexual harassment by filmmaker Sajid Khan.
Now, Mandana is choosing a path that gives her personal fulfillment, showing that it is never too late to follow your true passions.
