PTCL Group & PPAF Partner to Bring Clean Water to Southern Punjab and Thar. In a strong step towards solving Pakistan’s water crisis, PTCL Group and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) have joined hands to expand their clean water initiative. This second phase of the project aims to benefit around 200,000 people living in Southern Punjab and Thar.
Last year, PTCL Group installed water pumps in Thar in partnership with Shifa Foundation, bringing clean water to 15,000 people. The project earned national recognition, winning the “Best in Digital” award at the Dragons of Pakistan Awards.
In this new phase, the project will go further by introducing:
- Reverse osmosis plants
- Rainwater harvesting systems
These advanced solutions are designed to bring long-term, sustainable access to clean water in areas that suffer from severe water shortages.
Syed Atif Raza, Group Chief Commercial Officer, PTCL & Ufone 4G, said: “Access to clean water is a basic human need. Our partnership with PPAF brings us closer to solving one of the country’s biggest challenges with sustainable and impactful solutions.”
Nadir Gul Barech, CEO of PPAF, added: “Water means life, health, and opportunity. Together with PTCL Group, we’re proving that strong partnerships can bring water to even the driest parts of Pakistan. We are not just meeting a need—we are changing lives and futures.”
This project reflects PTCL Group’s commitment to social responsibility and its belief that true progress comes from the heart – Dil Se. The collaboration stands as a powerful example of how institutions can work together to make a lasting difference for communities in need.
