Military Urges Afghanistan to Act Against Terrorists Using Afghan Soil
India will Respond with Full Force to Any Misadventure: COAS Gen Asim Munir. The 267th Corps Commanders’ Conference of Pakistan Army, chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, concluded today with a strong warning to India and condemnation of cross-border terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.
According to the ISPR, the conference reviewed the regional security scenario, focusing on the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary. The participants paid tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers, law enforcement officers and civilians who laid down their lives in the pursuit of national security.
The forum expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day (February 5), strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and called for international intervention. Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination.
The COAS strongly criticized the recent provocative statements by the Indian military leadership, calling them irresponsible and detrimental to regional stability. General Munir stressed that the Pakistan Army is fully prepared to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, saying that any aggression will be met with a befitting reply. He termed India’s statements as a counterproductive tactic to cover up internal problems and human rights violations.
The conference also expressed grave concern over the use of Afghan soil by terrorist groups for attacks against Pakistan and urged the Afghan interim government to take concrete action against these groups. The military reiterated its resolve to defend Pakistan against such threats.
Addressing the socio-economic development in Balochistan, the forum highlighted the need to intensify people-based initiatives to counter the external narrative and thwart foreign-sponsored efforts to destabilize the region. The army reiterated its commitment to establishing peace in Balochistan with the support of the local population.
General Munir concluded the conference by emphasizing the army’s commitment to fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities and maintaining operational readiness through continuous training and enhanced military cooperation.
