Govt announces new petrol prices from October 16: Here’s updated rate list. The federal government of Pakistan has announced a revision in the petroleum prices for the next 15 days, here on Tuesday.
As per the details, high-speed diesel prices have been increased by Rs 5 per litre, while the price of petrol remains unchanged at 247.03 per litre.
As a result of the increase, the new price for high-speed diesel is now RS 251.29 costs amid fluctuating global oil prices.
These new prices took effect on September 16, as stated in an official notification.

Petrol is mainly utilised in private transportation, small vehicles, rickshaws, and two-wheelers, greatly impacting the budgets of the middle and lower-middle classes.
However, a significant portion of the transport sector relies on high-speed diesel. Its price is viewed as inflationary since it is predominantly used in heavy transport vehicles, trains, and agricultural machinery such as trucks, buses, tractors, tube wells, and threshers, which particularly contributes to the increased prices of vegetables and other food items.
