Lahore sealed ahead of PTI protest call at Minar-e-Pakistan. All major roads in Lahore and Raiwind have been sealed with heavy containers and tight police security ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest call, causing significant disruptions to traffic and daily life.
In Lahore, routes leading to the Minar-e-Pakistan have been completely blocked as containers have been placed from District Courts to the historical site.
Major roads such as those from Data Darbar, Bhati Gate, and the Railway Station have also been sealed. Key entry points from Shahdara, Batti Chowk, and Imamia Colony are completely shut down, making it impossible for traffic to enter these areas.
Additionally, the grounds surrounding Minar-e-Pakistan have been flooded with water, reportedly to deter public gatherings.
Similarly, strict measures have been enforced in Raiwind, where Jati Umra Road at Adda Plot has been blocked.
The Multan Road from the Manga Mandi Bypass is also closed. These actions come as part of preemptive steps to maintain law and order and prevent any public unrest that may arise during the PTI protest in Lahore, Pakistan.
Authorities have further imposed Section 144 in Lahore, restricting all public gatherings and rallies until October 8, in an effort to curb the spread of protests. Roads leading in and out of the city remain under close watch with containers set up at various strategic points to prevent the movement of large groups.
These measures have left residents frustrated as traffic congestion worsens, and access to key areas remains cut off. Police contingents are heavily deployed in sensitive areas to ensure that public order is maintained, while emergency services remain on standby.
