Supreme Court’s Practice and Procedure Committee has scheduled the hearing of the review petition filed by PML-N after the September holidays.
ISLAMABAD: Following the PML-N, the ruling coalition partner Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court against the apex court’s July 12 verdict on reserved seats allotted to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Lawyer Farooq H Naek filed the review petition on his party’s behalf seeking the top court to overturn its verdict regarding reserved seats for women and minorities.
On July 12, the Supreme Court nullified the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) ruling to deny the main opposition party, the PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council its reserved seats in parliament. The apex court in its verdict declared Imran Khan’s party eligible for the allocation of seats reserved for women and minorities.

Supreme Court’s Practice and Procedure Committee has scheduled the hearing of the review petition filed by PML-N after the September holidays. However, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, dissenting from the majority decision, argued that the summer holidays should be canceled to address the review petitions promptly.
