Special Assistant to Prime Minister Advocates Urgent Medical Care for Yasin Malik Amidst Health Crisis.
Mushaal Raises Alarm Over Yasin Malik’s Health in Detention. In a heartfelt plea against the inhumane treatment of her husband, Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, has raised serious concerns about his deteriorating health condition while in custody of Indian authorities.
Mushaal has highlighted that Yasin Malik’s health has reached an alarming level after he ceased taking medications in protest against the authorities’ delay in providing him with proper medical attention, despite court orders mandating his transfer to a hospital. She revealed that Yasin Malik’s health is at risk due to the ineffectiveness of an expired pacemaker, alongside complications arising from kidney problems and significant weight loss.
Expressing profound worry over his worsening condition, Mushaal disclosed that recent reports confirm the rapid deterioration of Yasin Malik’s health due to inadequate medical treatment in Tihar Jail. Just two weeks ago, Yasin Malik’s mother approached a Delhi court, drawing attention to her son’s declining health and the authorities’ lack of interest in addressing his medical needs. In her plea, Yasin Malik’s mother expressed her willingness to cover the expenses of his treatment.
Mushaal emphasized that court orders and Yasin Malik’s deteriorating health necessitated his immediate transfer to a hospital for supervised medical care until his full recovery. Despite this, Yasin Malik was only taken to a government hospital in Delhi on February 13 after his condition worsened significantly. However, authorities returned him to jail after a routine medical checkup, disregarding court orders for his hospitalization.
