Security forces kill five terrorists in Awaran district: ISPR. Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Mishkai area of Awaran district in Balochistan, killing five terrorists in an exchange of fire, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists, who were involved in extortion and target killing of innocent civilians.

A sanitization operation is underway to eliminate the remaining terrorists in the area, it added.

The security forces will foil every plot of the enemy with the support of the nation. The army will not allow the process of peace, stability and development to be sabotaged in Balochistan, the ISPR said.

Balochistan is Pakistan’s largest and poorest province, where a separatist insurgency has been raging for decades.

The security situation in Balochistan has improved in recent years, but sporadic attacks and clashes still occur. The conflict in Balochistan has also attracted foreign interference from regional, who have allegedly supported different factions of the insurgents.

A day earlier, the ISPR said five terrorists were neutralised during an operation in the Mir Ali area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan District.

According to the army’s media wing, an operation was carried out on information about the presence of terrorists in Mir Ali.

The killed terrorists included Commander Rahzeb alias Khoray, according to the ISPR.

“The killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces,” it said, adding that terrorists were also involved in extortion and target killings of innocent civilians.
