Registration Process for CM Punjab Laptop Scheme Completes, Check Balloting Date Details. The registration process for the Punjab government’s “CM Punjab Laptop Scheme” was completed on March 20 (Thursday) and now the balloting date will be announced soon.
Earlier, Punjab’s Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that the last day for BS program students to apply for free modern laptops was on Thursday.
The government announced the scheme, under which students will get the latest 13th generation Core i7 laptops. The scheme is intended for deserving candidates, which include 2,000 minority kids and those who excelled at the Secondary and Higher Secondary School Examinations.
Students from South Punjab will get 32% of the laptops. The students studying courses like computer science, medicine, science, engineering, social sciences, business, language, veterinary medicine, and agriculture are to get laptops under this scheme.
As per details, over 250,000 have already applied online for a total of 110,000 laptops, which will distributed among eligible candidates under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme.
Furthermore, laptops will be distributed to first and second-semester students in the first phase of the scheme.
The provincial government has set the merit criteria at a minimum of 65 percent for BS students and 80 percent for medical students, based on their intermediate examination marks.
Allocations under the laptop scheme
The laptops will be allocated to 20,000 university students, 14,000 college students, 4,000 technical and agricultural college students, and 2,000 medical and dental college students.
The scheme will benefit students studying a range of disciplines, including computer science, medicine, science, engineering, social sciences, business, language, veterinary medicine, and agriculture.
CM Punjab Laptop Distribution Date
The distribution is likely to commence after the month of Ramadan 2025, after the interview of eligible students for the program takes place in February, with laptop distribution likely in April/May of this year.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that the first shipment of computers has landed in Pakistan, in anticipation of which she will hold ceremonies in different cities to hand out laptops through the Honhaar scholarship program.
The scheme will benefit talented students from across the province, including those from minority backgrounds and rural areas.
