Punjab Govt Imposes Ban on Dancing Other Unethical Activities in Colleges. The Punjab Directorate of Public Instruction (Colleges) has imposed a ban on dancing and other “unethical” activities in public and private colleges across the province.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab Directorate of Public Instructions (Colleges), all “unethical and vulgar activities” in public and private colleges across the province have been banned.
The Secretary of the Higher Education Department expressed that such activities don’t sit well with imparting quality education and set the authority behind fun fairs, sports galas, and other events in which students and teachers danced on stage and in classrooms to Indian songs.
All directors and principals of public and private colleges in Punjab have been directed to ensure compliance with this new rule, otherwise strict actions would be taken against any violation of the latter.
Instead, college administrations have been directed to encourage other forms of extracurricular activities that align with cultural and educational values.
This ban in the province is not new, as previous restrictions on mobile phones and dancing in schools and colleges have already been imposed.
