Two terrorists killed, another injured in DI Khan gun battle: ISPR. At least two terrorists were killed and one was arrested with injuries during an exchange of fire with security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan on Monday, the army’s media wing said.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Kalachi following information about the presence of Khawarij.
“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from these Khawarij, who were actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as targeted killings of innocent civilians,” it said.
“A sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other outsiders found in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.”
Pakistan has seen a surge in militancy since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021, with the movement’s Pakistani chapter carrying out attacks mostly targeting security forces.
Earlier this month, a Frontier Corps captain and an army jawan were martyred in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu and Khyber districts.
Explosion kills two, injures several in Balochistan’s Chaman
A powerful explosion in Balochistan’s Chaman killed at least two people and injured several others, a private news channel reported on Monday.
The blast occurred in Chaman’s Mezai Ada. The cause of the explosion could not be ascertained, initial reports said.
