The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has unveiled comprehensive details regarding the allocation of funds to various national sports federations and athletes. Over the last five years, PSB has disbursed a whopping Rs. 1.07 billion to national sports federations and athletes.
Here’s a breakdown of PSB’s yearly funding:
- 2019-20: PKR 25 million
- 2020-21: PKR 42.42 million
- 2021-22: PKR 69.5 million
- 2022-23: PKR 423.29 million
- 2023-24: PKR 509.13 million
Among the recipients, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation emerged as the top-funded body, receiving Rs. 115.5 million. This includes a significant allocation of Rs. 100 million in the 2023-24 fiscal year alone.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation followed closely, securing Rs. 103.65 million over the five years, with Rs. 59.15 million allocated in the last fiscal year. The Athletics Federation of Pakistan also received substantial support from PSB, with a total of Rs. 101.29 million, including Rs. 69.25 million in the past year.

Karate was allocated Rs. 38 million, while Chess and Taekwondo received Rs. 39.5 million and Rs. 60.97 million from PSB, respectively. Snooker, a sport with a growing following in Pakistan, received Rs. 24 million over the five years.
