People from all around the nation criticized the production team and blamed them for promoting LGBTQ content in Pakistani dramas.
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani drama industry has been a hit for several years now. Pakistani dramas are loved by not only the audiences located in Pakistan but also across borders.
Many Pakistani actors have worked on an international level supported by different sponsorships. The recently introduced drama serial ”Barzakh” has been a topic of discussion since its airing. The series revolves around the concept of a fictional world where the dead and living co-exist, hence it’s given the title ”Barzakh”.
The drama casts Fawad Khan, Khushal Khan, Sanam Saeed, Sajid Hassan, and Salman Shahid as its lead characters. The drama is produced by Shailja Kejriwal and Waqas Hassan. Moreover, It is currently broadcast on ZEE5 ( an Indian channel) and Youtube.
However, casting high-paid actors or using beautiful locations nothing could save the drama serial from negative and harsh comments from the viewers. Barzakh faced severe black clashes from its audience for using inappropriate content.
Recently, the drama serial became a social media troll for airing a controversial and intimate scene featuring two male guys doing ”Gay Kiss” in its third episode.

My two cents on #Barzakh
This drama honestly is not for the television masses though. It is hollywood and Netflix standard series. The cinematography is breathtaking. The story line keeps you wanting for more. Simple art. Every second of it has something to offer.

Now i realised why this show is getting too much hype. They have shown everything in this drama which is haram in islam and should not be shown in pakistani dramas especially. Vulgarity, homosexuality everything is happening in this drama and everyone is quiet.. so on⬇️ #Barzakh pic.twitter.com/ZR1TbHM2Gw

Barzakh, a sacred Islamic concept, refers to the barrier, the threshold for the righteous. It’s mentioned in the Quran & Sunnah.
I’m dismayed that a drama filled with explicit content bears this name. Using Islamic terms for indecent purposes is disrespectful. They must stop.
