The COAS assured the officers and men of the Pakistan Army that no one would be allowed to disrespect the martyrs.
LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has said that there can be no compromise or deal with the planners and architects of the May 9 tragedy, calling it a dark chapter in our history.
As per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS made these remarks while addressing the garrison officers and soldiers at Corps Headquarters Lahore.
Gen. Syed Asim Munir said that May 9, 2023, will undoubtedly be a dark day in the history of Pakistan when “deliberately misguided and self-serving miscreants” desecrated the martyrs’ memorials and attacked the symbols of the state and national unity.
He said that due to these heinous acts of criminal violence, the enemies of Pakistan were given an opportunity to make fun of the state and the nation. The Army Chief regretted that now the same conspirators are shamelessly trying to distort the narrative and involve the state in this heinous attempt.
COAS said that, on the directions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, those gullible elements who did not understand the real motive behind this criminal activity and were used as cannon fodder for the political ambitions of the masterminds have already been given a reasonable benefit of doubt.

However, the army chief made it clear that the’real leaders’ who now present themselves as victims will be held accountable for their actions, especially when they are found to have indulged in and indulged in organized violence and sabotage. There is irrefutable evidence.
The COAS assured the officers and men of the Pakistan Army that no one would be allowed to disrespect the martyrs, their families, or the institution. On May 9, planners, facilitators, and perpetrators will be brought to justice according to the law.
The Army Chief said that our patience in not responding to daily provocations regarding brazen violations of the Constitution has its limits and should never be considered a weakness.

He expressed his determination that the ambitions of all these forces would be thwarted with the support of the nation.
General Syed Asim Munir said that every soldier and officer of the Pakistan Army, irrespective of any other affiliation or priorities, gives priority to his duties and responsibilities and continues to make immense sacrifices on a daily basis.
