Islamabad High Court allows PTI to hold rally in Islamabad. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the district administration to permit Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally on March 30 in Islamabad.
CJ IHC Aamir Farooq made the directives while hearing an application regarding PTI permission to hold a rally on March 30 in Islamabad.
Addressing the state counsel, CJ Farooq said that the right of assembly cannot be taken away and instructed to grant permission to PTI for their rally without imposing any unusual conditions, adhering to standard Terms of Reference (TOR).
He emphasised the importance of ensuring orderliness during public gatherings.
Sher Afzal Marwat Advocate, counsel of the defense, informed the court that they now want to hold the rally on April 6 in Islamabad. CJ Farooq urged him to ensure that the event proceeds without disturbance.
The public prosecutor sought time to seek instructions, but CJ Farooq clarified that the decision lies with the court, not the consent of the prosecutor.

The Islamabad district administration had formally rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) application seeking permission to hold a public rally against the “massive rigging” in February 8 polls, post-poll result manipulations, and “deviation from the Constitution” in Islamabad on March 30, citing “law and order situation”.
The former ruling party had moved the court alleging that the capital city administering was unresponsive to their request and sought its order in this regard.
