Naqvi addressed the issue of players prioritizing national commitments over lucrative T20 leagues.
Pakistan Cricket Team Partners with Pakistan Army for Intensive Training Camp. Pakistan’s cricket team is gearing up for an intensive ten-day training camp in collaboration with the Pakistan Army from March 25 to April 8, announced PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday. This initiative aims to enhance the players’ fitness levels ahead of upcoming series and tournaments.
Addressing the players at a hotel in Islamabad, Naqvi highlighted the importance of improving fitness levels, especially after observing certain shortcomings during recent matches. He emphasized the need for rigorous training, considering the busy cricket schedule ahead, including tours against New Zealand, Ireland, England, and the T20 World Cup.
The training camp will take place at the prestigious Kakul Military Academy, with the Pakistan Army assisting in conducting the sessions. This collaboration draws inspiration from past successful instances where military involvement significantly benefited the team’s performance.
However, the timing of the camp during the holy month of Ramzan presents challenges, as many players will be observing fasting, which may affect their participation in rigorous activities.
Additionally, Naqvi addressed the issue of players prioritizing national commitments over lucrative T20 leagues. He urged the players to consider representing Pakistan as their first priority, citing personal sacrifices made during his tenure as the caretaker chief minister of Punjab.

The upcoming training camp signifies a proactive approach by the PCB and Pakistan Army to enhance the performance and fitness of the national cricket team, aiming for success in the upcoming cricketing endeavors.
