Pakistan’s mystery spinner, Abrar Ahmed, has faced a prolonged injury due to his consistent negligence of medical instructions, according to a medical report obtained by a private news channel. The spinner’s injury occurred during a practice match against Prime Minister XI in Australia, forcing him out of the entire three-match Test series.
The medical report disclosed that the extended duration of Abrar’s injury was a consequence of his failure to adhere to the medical panel’s guidance. It further unveiled that the spinner is grappling with Sciatica, a condition characterized by pain, numbness, or tingling in the leg.

The medical staff devised a recovery plan, including restrictions on specific exercises and drills, but the 25-year-old spinner did not comply with the instructions.
Despite repeated urgings from the team management to follow the medical panel’s commands, Abrar continued to neglect the prescribed regimen. This negligence resulted in his injury during the practice match in Australia against Prime Minister XI, leading to his exclusion from the entire Test series.

During the four-day practice match, Abrar bowled 27 overs, registering a wicket. However, he experienced discomfort in his right leg by the end of the third day, prompting an MRI. Currently undergoing rehabilitation at Lahore’s National Cricket Academy (NCA), Abrar will miss Pakistan’s upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, beginning on January 12 in Auckland.
