Mushaal Calls for Global Action on Kashmir at Seminar Honoring 1931 Martyrs

Mushaal urges Kashmiris to boycott upcoming elections in IIOJK

Mullick calls on media to expose India’s actions, supports Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiri voting abroad

Mushaal urges Kashmiris to boycott upcoming elections in IIOJK. Mushaal Hussein Mullick, a prominent Kashmiri activist and wife of imprisoned Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, has called on the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to reject the upcoming elections in the region.

Describing the elections as a “fraudulent exercise,” Mullick argued that they are designed to mislead the international community while the real voices of Kashmir are being silenced through unlawful detentions.

Addressing the media after a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, chaired by MNA Rana Qasim Noon, Mullick highlighted the dire situation in IIOJK. She pointed out that top Hurriyat leaders are either imprisoned or have been killed, turning the region into what she described as a “garrison city.”

As the Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation and a special invitee to the meeting, Mullick emphasized the need for heightened international awareness of the Kashmir issue. The committee, which recently convened, has established seven sub-committees to focus on various aspects of the conflict, including legal, human rights, strategic, art, and cultural dimensions.

Mullick, a former interim minister, urged the media to play an active role in exposing what she termed India’s “nefarious designs” in Kashmir. She reaffirmed her support for the Hurriyat leadership and called for the release of all detained leaders and youth. Mullick also noted the significance of Kashmiri participation in elections abroad, such as in the United Kingdom (UK), as a symbol of the region’s ongoing struggle for self-determination.

Stressing the importance of unity among Kashmiris, Mullick asserted that the fight for Kashmir’s liberation would continue unyieldingly. She criticized the Indian judicial system as unjust, citing the upcoming hearing of Yasin Malik’s case on September 15. Mullick condemned the charges against Malik as false and politically motivated, emphasizing his role as a leading voice in the Kashmir freedom movement.

In closing, Mushaal Hussein Mullick reiterated her commitment to the cause, vowing to persist in the struggle for Kashmir’s freedom until the region achieves its long-sought birthright of self-determination.
