Baerbock met earlier today with her FM Bilawal in Islamabad
German FM Annalena Baerbock is cutting a trip abroad short after testing positive for the coronavirus in Pakistan.
According to German Ministry, Baerbock, who met earlier Tuesday with her FM Bilawal Bhutto in Islamabad, has cancelled all further dates of the trip. German FM had noticed that she lost her sense of taste, as after she was tested for coronavirus. It is unclear when she will return to Germany.
Pakistan’s response against coronavirus was one of the most efficient. It focused of smart lockdowns across the country to manage it. It continues to implement booster doses of the vaccine to ensure the virus does not spread. However, the German foreign minister was found positive with the coronavirus.
Moreover, it is also unclear whether she got the virus in Pakistan or if she carried it with her from abroad. She was visiting Pakistan directly from Germany.
