ANF recovers heroin hidden in potatoes to be sent to Sri Lanka. In a remarkable operation, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in Karachi has successfully intercepted a substantial heroin shipment disguised within a container of potatoes destined for Sri Lanka.
Acting on crucial intelligence, ANF personnel conducted a thorough inspection at the Karachi International Container Terminal. During the search, they uncovered approximately 5 kilograms of heroin concealed in an ingenious manner—hidden within 122 individual potatoes among a total of 1,198 sacks.
The drugs were carefully concealed with one to two heroin-filled potatoes cleverly inserted into each of the 80 sacks. The precision of the concealment required an equally meticulous search, with ANF agents meticulously examining each sack and potato to uncover the hidden narcotics.
The operation led to the arrest of one suspect, who has been taken into custody at the ANF police station for further interrogation. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover additional suspects and unravel the full scope of the smuggling network involved.
The container, booked by a private company, is now under scrutiny, and additional raids are anticipated as the investigation progresses. The successful bust highlights the ANF’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and safeguarding public safety.
