Police quickly filed FIR against Ahsan Naveed, Noor ul Ain and their old mother Humera Naveed.
Karachi Police was prompt in arresting a brother and sister living in Bukhari Commercial area. The First Information Report, filed on August 21, 2026 shows that a complainant Maryam Ali Raza has submitted an application to police against the family. The complaint has added several clauses including sections 354, 504, 506, 337A, 382 and 34.
In short, the offences under the given sections are assault against a woman to outrage her modesty. It includes insulting an individual. Iterestingly, Section 382 refers to theft after hurting someone. The sections 24 and 37A refers to implicate all those mentioned in the FIR for jointly committing the crime.
While the visual evidence suggests opposite of what is being mentioned in the First Information Report. The police were quick to lodge the FIR which can result in a jail term for over 5 years for the family. A TIP Survey in 2022 indicated Police remain most corrupt in Pakistan. The incident has validated how the system has completely failed to protect the citizens.
What Happened in Karachi Apartment Incident?
The incident at Bukhari Commercial shows that there was a minor altercation on a parking issue. Noor ul Ain lives on the third Floor; Maryam Ali Raza on the fourth. Apparently, the parking issue quickly changed into a physical one. However, the videos show that it was Maryam who was abusing the other family. Karachi Police made her a victim. On the other hand, Noor ul Ain and her brother were trying to save themselves when Maryam was attacking the woman. Police is trying to falsely implicate the family as offenders.
The video clearly shows that Noor and her brother Ahsan are trying to ask for help when Maryam attacks Noor in presence of police personnel. The police personnel on duty acted as the personal servants of Maryam instead of State employees. The video shows Maryam is coming down from her fourth-floor apartment and tries to hit Noor with a Dumble. At this point, her brother tries to stop the lady. Noor is visibly threatened and a victim in the visuals.
Still, Noor tries to protect the brother and asks Ahsan to get back into the flat. On the other hand, Maryam keeps flaunting her power in the building. As soon the family enters back into the apartment, an unknown person comes up from downstairs with police sirens in the background. The person tries to open the door forcefully. At this point, Noor’s family is facing police as hooligans standing outside their apartment.
Interestingly, another policeman comes in the building in plain cloths. He tries to open the door forcefully. In a minute, he realizes that there is a CCTV camera recording all this drama. One can clearly see the policeman trying to break this CCTV camera with his official Sindh police AK-47 gun.
What Happened with Noor ul Ain?
The entire video shows Noor ul Ain’s background as someone simple belonging to a middle-class family. They were frightened by police; and from their neighbors from the fourth floor. Another video from the top of the building a few minutes later shows that police is trying to force Ahsan into a police vehicle. He tries to resist for a few seconds. However, he realizes soon that he is a common man in Karachi and the entire police department was trying to implicate him in this case.
There are unverified reports that Ahsan and Noor ul Ain were subjected to severe mental torture. The family was threatened and shown that police can use this FIR to dismantle their lives. Noor ul Ain was also subjected to the same fate.
At present, Noor’s family has vacated their apartment to shift in some other area of Karachi to please Maryam Ali Raza. The family has been forced out of their home for asking Maryam Ali Raza to park her car properly. The incident showcases how Karachi has become a Police State.
Interestingly, Karachi Police Officer Detained for Social Media Post Against President Zardari last year. However, there is no response from Sindh Police on the high handedness of the officials against this family.
Who is Ali Raza?
The exact position of Ali Raza is unknown. However, the number of police officers and vehicles appearing in the videos show that he is an influential man. Some reports wrongly quote former Islamabad SSP Syed Ali Raza. However, another PSP officer from lower Common Training Programme with same name is being identified as well. However, it is exactly unknown who is this influential Ali Raza?
Whatsoever, this case has opened up an old wound. It has shown the values of taxpayers in Pakistan. Moreover, it has shown how lower is the standard of police personnel in Sindh. It has also shown how police can victimize the victims to please their bosses. Wherever this case leads, Sindh Police officials will receive interest-free bikes & low-cost plots for their service to the nation.
