Shahab Advocate has been appointed as the General Secretary of District Peshawar.
CM Ali Gandapur reshuffles PTI’s leadership in KP. A significant leadership reshuffle has taken place within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has removed two high-ranking officials from their positions.
Atif Khan, previously the President of PTI’s Peshawar region, and Sher Ali Arbab, formerly the President of District Peshawar, have been relieved of their duties due to perceived acts of disloyalty.
Atif Khan’s public support for dismissed Minister Shakeel Khan, who was removed from his position earlier, was seen as a challenge to the chief minister’s authority.
Similarly, Sher Ali Arbab’s refusal to sign a declaration of confidence in the CM further strained his relationship with the party leadership.
To fill the vacant positions, the party has appointed new leaders including Arbab Asim has taken over as the President of PTI Peshawar Region, while Irfan Saleem has assumed the role of President of District Peshawar.
Additionally, Shahab Advocate has been appointed as the General Secretary of District Peshawar.
The changes were officially announced by PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s General Secretary, Ali Asghar Khan, with the approval of the provincial president.
This significant reshuffle marks a major shift in the party’s provincial hierarchy and highlights the chief minister’s efforts to assert his authority.
This development comes on the heels of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Works and Communications Shakeel Ahmed Khan’s resignation on August 16.
Earlier, Shakeel Khan, a PTI MPA, had submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, citing corruption within the provincial government and interference by the CM in his ministry as reasons for his resignation.
His resignation has sparked concerns about the state of governance in the province and the party’s internal dynamics.
