Mushaal Pays Tribute to Kashmiri Martyrs, Renews Call for Freedom. Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, paid glowing tributes to Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and the martyrs of Hawal on their martyrdom anniversary on Wednesday, honouring their enduring sacrifices for the Kashmiri cause.
Speaking at a ceremony, Mushaal, who is the wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yasin Malik, said that the people of Kashmir remain eternally indebted to the supreme sacrifices of these great martyrs, who laid down their lives in the just and courageous struggle for liberation from Indian occupation. She emphasized that the martyrdom of Mirwaiz Maulvi Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and the innocent victims of the Hawal massacre serves as a stark reminder of the brutal oppression faced by the Kashmiri people, and continues to inspire the ongoing resistance for justice, dignity, and the right to self-determination.
Mushaal reiterated that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) would never forget the immense sacrifices of martyrs like Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and the martyrs of Hawal, vowing that Kashmiris remained unwavering in their resolve to carry forward the noble mission of these brave and visionary leaders.
The chairperson said that history bears witness to the fact that nations who remain steadfast and committed to their cause ultimately achieve their cherished goals by triumphing over oppression. She added that the tradition of honouring martyrs not only pays homage to their sacrifices but also serves to rejuvenate the pro-freedom spirit of the Kashmiri people, keeping the flame of resistance alive in the face of continued tyranny.
She made it clear that the path to freedom is always laden with thorns and immense hardships. However, Mushaal expressed optimism that the day is not far when the Kashmiri people will achieve their just and legitimate right to self-determination, as enshrined in the resolutions of the United Nations.
She said that the world cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the Kashmir issue and the people’s legitimate struggle for their right to self-determination because the scenic valley was converted into a living hell and killing filed by the occupying forces. Sooner or later, the chairperson vowed that the international community will have to address and resolve the dispute in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
