In individual chats, the button initially displays a voice call icon, but users can tap it to access a menu offering the option to choose between a voice or video call.
One of the key highlights of this update is the ability to generate and share call links, making it easier for users to invite others to join ongoing conversations. Additionally, in group chats, the update allows users to select specific members to call instead of ringing the entire group, offering greater flexibility in communication.
This latest feature is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to enhance its calling experience, with previous updates including improved call quality and higher participant limits. The new call menu is still in its beta testing phase, with a wider rollout expected in the coming weeks.
