Expected Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 Date Announced in Pakistan. The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has predicted that Pakistan will likely celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Council’s Secretary General Khalid Ijaz Mufti said that the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible in most parts of the country on the evening of Sunday, March 30, if weather conditions are favorable.
“The new moon will be born on Saturday, March 29, at 3:58 PM Pakistan time,” Mufti stated.
By the time of sunset on Sunday, the age of the crescent will have exceeded 26 hours across the country, making it visible to the naked eye.
For the moon to be visible, it needs to be at least 18 hours old at sunset and have a gap of at least 40 minutes between sunset and moonset.
Although the research council has predicted the moon sighting, the final decision will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, during a meeting on March 30.
Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is one of the most significant religious occasions in Pakistan, celebrated with prayers, family gatherings, and festive meals.
