German Embassy to prioritise visas for deserving students. The German Embassy in Islamabad has announced that it will only process student visa applications that it deems genuinely deserving, prioritizing those with strong academic backgrounds and scholarships.
In a statement, the embassy confirmed that the quota for the winter semester has been filled.
According to the news report, many students have reported receiving acceptance letters from German universities but not being called for interviews by the German Embassy in Islamabad.
Students claim that the appointment system opened on May 21st, but interviews are not being scheduled for applications submitted through the normal track. It appears that only fast-track applications are being invited for interviews.

The German Embassy’s communications section has clarified that applications from students with government scholarships or exceptional school and undergraduate results will be prioritized this year.

The current volume of applications exceeds the embassy’s processing capacity. The embassy is working to increase its capacity for faster processing of applications.
The German Embassy has confirmed that it will prioritize scholarship holders and PhD students. Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher will also be given priority.
