Mushaal highlighted the ongoing brutalities faced by Kashmiris, noting that over 450,000 had been martyred since 1947.
ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of jailed senior Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, paid tribute to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day.
In her statement, Mushaal reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Kashmiri people to their struggle for liberation from what she termed as the illegal occupation by India.
Mushaal, who previously served as the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, called the massacre of July 13, 1931, a dark chapter in the history of the Dogra regime. She vowed that Kashmiri freedom fighters would continue to resist the Indian occupation until they achieved liberation.
She highlighted the ongoing brutalities faced by Kashmiris, noting that over 450,000 had been martyred since 1947, with over 96,326 killed by Indian troops since January 1989, including 7,341 who died in custody. Despite this, she emphasized that Indian forces had failed to break the spirit and resolve of the Kashmiri people.
Mushaal stressed the need for a peaceful and just resolution to the Kashmir dispute, urging world powers and human rights organizations to intervene according to the UN-agreed formula.
